· Review your requirements (SWPPP).

· This summary is intended to provide sampling reminders in a simplified manner. Check facility-specific procedures in your SWPPP and consult the full text of the Texas multi-sector general permit TXR050000 for more details.
· Work safely. Rain storms often generate dangerous lightning and sample bottles often contain strong acid preservatives. Follow your employer's safety procedures including all required documentation such as Job Hazard Analysis.
· Quarterly Visual exams are required at all outfalls but lab sampling may only be done at a limited number due to substantial similarity (see your SWPPP for details).
· Sampling strategy may have a significant impact on laboratory results. Inadequate run-off volume often leads to questionable representivity. Depending on prevailing conditions, obtaining good stormwater samples can be surprisingly difficult.
